The NexLawn Master X, introduced at IFA in Berlin, aims to revolutionize garden care with its robotic arm. Details on this concept product that can pick up debris, weed, and even play with pets.

Many autonomous lawn mowers were introduced or showcased at this year's IFA event in Berlin, but only one was equipped with a robotic arm. NexLawn, a sub-brand of MOVA under the Dreame parent company, announced its Master X Series Concept, which it describes as the "first robotic lawnmower with a fully functional mechanical arm."

This arm is designed to help reduce the need for manual maintenance, such as picking up fallen branches or debris that could damage the robot or make it difficult to navigate around obstacles. The arm can fold down to 44.5 cm (approx. 17.5 inches), extend up to 77 cm (just over 30 inches), and has a reach of up to one meter when performing outdoor tasks. NexLawn stated that it has multiple interchangeable arm attachments, including a multi-gripper, a weeding head, and an edge-trimming disc head, with more in development.

According to NexLawn's press release, the Master X Series Concept is capable of "lawn mowing, weeding, fruit picking, and even interacting with pets." A 3D animated video demo shows the mower tossing a ball for a dog, for example, although it's hard to imagine a dog having a positive interaction with such a distinctly non-human device.

The "Concept" in its name indicates this is not a consumer-ready product you can actually buy; however, some concept products do eventually become tangible. NexLawn has not specified a price or release date, so a potential launch is likely still some time away.
