At IFA 2025, Lenovo introduced the Smart Motion Concept, a laptop stand that automatically adjusts to the user's movements. Details on this concept's features, including face tracking and AI Ring control, which target ergonomics and accessibility.

Lenovo's Smart Motion Concept laptop stand, announced at IFA 2025, can automatically raise and lower itself, as well as pan and tilt to bring your laptop to an ergonomic eye level. The feature is reminiscent of an advanced version of Apple's Center Stage, but in this case, the entire laptop adjusts to you and your posture, not just the webcam view.

The stand requires its own external power source to operate. Other features include built-in cooling fans and a USB hub. The USB connection allows Lenovo's software to use the laptop's webcam to keep the user constantly in the frame.

In addition to face tracking, the stand can be controlled with a remote or via hand gestures using Lenovo's AI Ring, another concept the company introduced at MWC.

The Smart Motion stand was inspired by Lenovo's "Auto Twist" concept—a laptop that would automatically turn its screen toward you. Lenovo envisions that if this technology is released in a future product, it could play a significant role in meeting accessibility needs across various laptops.
