CEOs from Microsoft, OpenAI, and Oracle praised President Donald Trump's artificial intelligence policies at a White House dinner, where billions in investment were pledged.
Some of the nation's most powerful business leaders gathered last night to praise President Donald Trump's artificial intelligence policies.
"You and your policies are truly being very helpful," Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella told the president. AMD CEO Lisa Su commended "the momentum we have seen in the few short months since the administration has taken office." Oracle CEO Safra Catz expressed admiration for Trump becoming president and for his immediate recognition of the importance of AI. "You have unleashed American innovation and creativity; all the work you do in almost every cabinet position and coming from the White House makes it possible for America to win."
"Thank you for being a pro-business and pro-innovation president," praised OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. "It’s a very refreshing change. We are so excited to see what you do to make all of our companies and our country so successful." Altman added that his company would "be investing heavily in the United States."
These compliments came during the public portion of a dinner Trump held at the White House on Thursday with CEOs from many leading tech companies, including Apple, Google, and Meta. Trump asked several of the CEOs how much they would be spending in the U.S. over the next few years and seemed pleased after they cited figures in the hundreds of billions of dollars. Earlier on Thursday, First Lady Melania Trump hosted a working group on AI education, where many of these companies pledged investments to train youth and the workforce on how to use the new technology.

The presence of tech leaders at the White House has become a relatively common occurrence during this administration. Many of the CEOs at Thursday's dinner had also attended Trump's inauguration and donated to his inaugural fund. Mark Zuckerberg had met with Trump in the West Wing shortly before the government's antitrust lawsuit against his company began. On Thursday, Zuckerberg, whom Trump had previously threatened to jail before their rapprochement, was seated right next to the president.
