Microsoft, Nvidia and Tech Giants Pledge Over $40B for UK AI Infrastructure Add to favorites

Microsoft, Nvidia, and several other tech firms have committed more than $40 billion to build AI infrastructure and data centers in the UK, as part of the country’s push to bolster digital sovereignty and capability.
Microsoft will invest approximately $30 billion over the next four years in the UK, focusing on data center expansion, AI infrastructure, and cloud components.
Nvidia plans to deploy 120,000 advanced GPUs across UK data centers by the end of 2026, with many intended for domestic AI facilities.
Partnerships with entities like OpenAI and Nscale are forming under the “Stargate UK” initiative to further scale AI training and deployment capacities.
These commitments align with the UK’s strategic goals of strengthening digital infrastructure resilience, controlling compute capacity domestically, and remaining globally competitive in AI.
