SpaceX expands its Starlink megaconstellation by launching 29 satellites from Cape Canaveral, enhancing high-speed internet and global coverage capabilities.
On January 19, 2026, SpaceX successfully launched a fresh batch of 29 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit (LEO), marking another milestone in its mission to blanket the globe with high-speed internet. The mission took flight from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, propelled by the company’s workhorse Falcon 9 rocket.
This latest deployment significantly strengthens the Starlink megaconstellation, which now boasts an active fleet of over 9,500 satellites. By continuously expanding this network, SpaceX is not only increasing data capacity but also refining its ability to deliver seamless connectivity to the most remote corners of the planet. Beyond traditional home internet, the network is increasingly supporting advanced services such as in-flight Wi-Fi and direct-to-cell satellite communication.
Demonstrating the efficiency of SpaceX's orbital logistics, the Falcon 9’s first-stage booster successfully touched down following the launch. This hallmark of reusability remains a cornerstone of the company’s strategy, drastically reducing the cost of access to space. As SpaceX scales its operations, each successful launch brings the company closer to its goal of providing uninterrupted, high-bandwidth coverage for users worldwide, regardless of their geographic location.
